Carishea Shea Life Soap Bar

Carishea Shea Life Soap Bar

I love finding new products that are created locally and ethically sourced.  When I found out that Carisheaproducts are made partly in my hometown I was really interested in trying them out.

Carishea products are created following the principles of fair trade, sourcing natural ingredients which are harvested and refined by skilled local workers within poor communities in Ghana, West Africa.
The ingredients are then sent to the UK where the final luxurious products are handcrafted by members of disadvantaged communities in Scotland who are fully trained by Carishea.

Carishea care about ending poverty. A portion of the profits made are returned to their respective areas to be used in community projects and incentives, such as building a school in Ghana and supporting drug rehabilitation work in Scotland.

Carishea have loads of great soaps and skincare products made from natural ingredients with noparabensSLS or other preservatives. I try to use as natural and organic skincare products as possible so this range is perfect for me.
I've been using the Carishea Shea Life Soap Bar (100g £4.50)*  recently and I'm really enjoying it. Its great to use first thing in the morning as it has a very energizing citrus scent and leaves mefeeling clean and fresh.

The Shea Life Soap bar contains lemon, eucalyptus and rosemary essential oils which help moisturize the skin and leave a slightly woody, citrus scent. The greenish colour comes from the addition of Moringa herb. The soap itself lathers up really well despite the exclusion of any SLS, some soaps I've used without this haven't been as good and I do like a good lather.

Happy Birthday Hello Flawless! - Benefit Giveaway! - Contest Closed

Happy Birthday Hello Flawless! - Benefit Giveaway! - Contest Closed

Happy Birthday Hello Flawless!!

Can you believe that Benefit's amazing Hello Flawless, Oxygen Wow! foundation is a year old? I feel like it was only yesterday when I first came across the super light, skin brightening wonder and I've barely looked back since.

Hello Flawless provides buildable light to medium coverage which is perfect as we are coming into Spring and the warmer weather approaches (well hopefully it will, not so sure since its Glasgow but fingers crossed). The liquid foundation comes in a wide range of shades to suit all skintones, is oil free and contains a broad spectrum SPF 25. It costs £24.50 for 30ml and is available from the Benefit website andBenefit concessions.

To celebrate the anniversary of Hello Flawless and to show my appreciation, I'm hosting a little contest to say thank you to all my wonderful readers.
I have some fantastic prizes (some kindly provided by some gorgeous BeneBabes!) which one lucky reader will win, including some great Benefit Hello Flawless goodies. (I'm incredibly jealous I'd like to win them too but sadly for me, I think that would cheating slightly)

The competition will run for three weeks from Friday 8th March 2013 until midnight Friday 29th March 2013. -  Contest Closed Winner has been contacted!
In keeping with Benefit's "Laughter is the best cosmetic!" slogan, all you have to do to enter is to tell me your favourite cosmetics related joke or funny story.
The winner will be the one who makes me laugh the most!
My favorite funny story is from when I was about 13/14 and used to go to the roller disco every Saturday night. I used to wear this metallic, frosty pale blue lipstick by Constance Caroll (blast from the past eh!?!) and thought I was uber-cool. Clearly others didn't think so and used to laugh at me and say I looked dead. Fast forward a good few years and I still have been known to sport similar lipsticks today, I love a good blue lip. Obviously I was far too ahead of my times in the cosmetic stakes!

The prize includes;

I have a few little rules in relation to the contest:
