Geisha Facial Mask

Geisha Facial Mask

I've been looking for a facial mask that would fit in my skin. Previously I always spent my money in a Spa to have a facial mask but times goes by, I can feel that I am just wasting my money weekly for nothing. I am not showing any difference in my face. So I started to look for a facial mask that can be done at home. I tried most of the facial mask in the beauty stores but it is no good for me. I tried this branded facial mask but after few minutes of using it, I felt itchy and redness in my face so I immediately stopped using it.

While I am reading for blogs of my co-bloggers. I read about the Uguisu No Fun Illuminating Mask or known as Geisha Facial Mask. Actually I already heard about it before but I just don't know where to buy it because I saw it in a Spa and it cost $200 for an hour. I can't spend that amount for a facial mask. But my co-blogger said that the Uguisu No Fun Illuminating Mask only cost $22.50 online. No questions asked, I bought it immediately.

While waiting for the delivery, I researched more about the Uguisu No Fun Illuminating Mask. Then I found out that this mask was used by Geisha and Kabuki Actors 400 years ago to remove their heavy make ups and to remove stains in their kimono. And it is also used by the Ladies in the Samurai families to improve their skin. And up to now both men and women are still using it worldwide. Wow. Uguisu No Fun Illuminating Mask is part of the history of Japan.

I used the Uguisu No Fun Illuminating Mask 7 days before my birthday. Hoping that this can make me look good and fresh on my party. I only used few powder then I added clean water until it became like a paste then applied it in my face. I leave it in my face for 15 minutes. After rinsing it, I became speechless. My face looks awesome. I can't hardly believe what happened to my face. My face looks glowing and whiter. And when I touched my face, it feels absolutely soft and smooth. It is amazing.

Then 2 days before my birthday I used the Uguisu No Fun Illuminating Mask again but now I leave it on my skin for 30 minutes. Because they said that the longer you leave Uguisu No Fun Illuminating Mask in your face the better its effect.

Uguisu No Fun Illuminating Mask never fail me. My face looks fantastic after using it. My face looks softer, smoother and glowing. This products rocks my life. I would like to send my appreciation to Uguisu No Fun Illuminating Mask.

Debenhams SS13 Press Day - Spring Beauty Essentials

Debenhams SS13 Press Day - Spring Beauty Essentials

I've been really looking forward to finding out what SS13 beauty collections would look like.

I popped along to the Debenhams Press show in Glasgow's Lighthouse arts centre to check out the new collections.
Some of Debenhams top beauty brands were on display and I was really excited to have a peek.

Although we've not had much of a "Spring" yet here in Glasgow, I still like to chose my cosmetic shades to fit in with the seasons as looking down at a lovely bright shade on my nails certainly helps to brighten up a miserable, rainy day.
The key trends this SS are your usual pastels for Spring moving onto brights and almost neon shades for Summer however this year both have taken an interesting twist.

Illamasqua have opted for their "speckled" effect (above bottom right of pic) to feature in their I'mPerfection collection and the beautiful pastel polishes have black specks, almost like a black glitter throughout. These are right on time for Easter, They remind me a lot of Cadbury's mini eggs. (I'm not a chocolate fan but I could eat mini eggs all day)

CK One have also thrown in a little twist to their Summery polishes as the chartreuse and sea blue shades are both scented with CK One fragrance. Although a slight novelty product (I have yet to find a reasonable need for a scented nail polish) I absolutely adore the idea and the shades are right up my street.
CK One have also re-branded their cosmetics and have relaunched in the UK recently. I really enjoyed seeing the collection as they have a fantastic range including duo blushes and eyeshadow quads all in a wide range of shades. Their new foundation has also recently launched which is the 3 in 1 Face Makeupwhich includes a serum, primer and foundation with SPF which will be perfect for summer.

Pastel shades all feature in IllamasquaYSL, and Guerlain's eyeshadow and blush palettes this Spring. I'm a huge fan of Illamasqua's blush duo's in Lover/Hussy and Katie/Ambition.

As with all SS beauty collections there is always something for the bronzed beach goddess and this year is no exception. Guerlain have released their lip glosses in some beautiful shades, including a to-die-for gold which would be perfect for hot Summer nights.

Mavala's Summer collection of polishes would also be the perfect polish to accompany your sandles on the beach. I love a bright polish on my toes in the Summer and some of their new shades are just gorgeous.

Clarins new Summer 2013 collection, Splendours is also on my wishlist for the warmer weather (if it comes) The Summer Bronzing Compact, Colour Quartet and liner eye palette and instant Smooth crystal lip balms and lip gels all look really pretty. The Crystal lip balms will be a great alternative to lipstick as they provide a hint of sheer colour without looking too heavy.

The shade I can see myself mostly wearing on my nails this Spring/Summer is definitely this chartrusse shade from Nail Girls London. They have a fantastic collection of polishes which are all free from harmful chemicals.
They also have a great nail bar based in Debenhams within Glasgow's Silverburn shopping centre. If you are in the area I'd advise popping in for some pampering.

Valentines Day, Boux Avenue Wishlist

Valentines Day, Boux Avenue Wishlist

I love Valentines Day,  although I think that you should let the ones you love know every day of the year. Its nice to have one special day to go all out.

My other half is usually quite good with Valentines gifts, he normally manages a trip to MAC and I normally get him some sort of dj/electronic equipment item that he usually loves but is completely alien to me.

This year I've been secretly hoping for some nice new lingerie and I've seen some gorgeous pieces recently from Boux Avenue
Here are some of what I've been longing for and think would make for perfectly romantic Valentines day...

Beautysets - Valentines Wishlist
I adore these two sets from Boux Avenue, The black set is Jen Silk Balconette Plunge Bra (£30) and Jen Silk Shorts (£30) and the red is the Alexus Silk Balconette Bra (£30) and Alexus Silk Shorts  (£16). I also love the Frilly Milly red and white briefs (£9) They are so cute and perfect for Valentines.
Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries would top the day off nicely.

However, although my Mr will probably get me a lovely gift, my Valentines is more than likely to end up like this;

Beautysets - valentines

These Follow Your Heart Pyjamas (£28) look super comfortable and will be great for snuggling up on the sofa with this mini hot water bottle (£8) and a good movie, Walk the Line is one of my favourites.

How will you be spending your Valentines Day?

Festival Nails with NailGirls

Festival Nails with NailGirls

I'm so excited that festival season has finally kicked off. I'm headed off to Glastonbury in a few weeks and I can't wait!

I love everything (well portaloo's aside) about festivals especially the style and over the next few weeks I'll be sharing some of my favorite festival essentials.
First up is nailing (heehee) the festival mani. I've raided my NailGirls collection to come up with a funky festival look that I'll definitely be rocking this year.

Key festival nail looks are typically bright and bold I've used NailGirls Coral #1 Bright Tangerine* andNailGirls Green #8* on alternate fingers for an eyecatching look.
NailGirls polishes are really pigmented so only one coat is needed for full opacity, I tend to use two out of habit though.

Glastonbury is a five day festival so its essential that my mani lasts it all. I can't bear the look of chipped polish however I can safely say that NailGirls polishes seem up to the job. (I'll let you know after the festival) I've worn this mani for over 5 days now with minimal tip wear which is great. I'm sure with a top coat they'd last even longer!

No Festival Mani would be complete without a little bit of Nail Art, Sadly I'm not the best at this but I've come up with a simple little design which I think captures the Festival Spirit!
I used NailGirls Black #1 Patent Black* to draw on this little "peace" symbol with a thin eyeliner brush.

NailGirls polishes retail at £10.50 and can be purchased via the NailGirls Website or from one of their N

Roger and Gallet Eau des Bienfaits Fragrant Body Mist

Roger and Gallet Eau des Bienfaits Fragrant Body Mist

I've been needing a bit of a pick me up recently and I find that citrus scents are always something that make me feel a little more alert.

I've been using Roger and Gallet Eau des Bienfaits recently and I can't get enough of it.
It is a fragrant body mist with hydrating properties which also actively soften the skin.

Eau des Bienfaits is an invigorating and stimulating fresh fragrance with top notes of Blood Orange, Mandarin, Lemon and Bergamot. Violet and orange blossom scents come next and finally while cedar and patchouli linger for hours.

I am a huge fan of citrus scents and I find Eau des Bienfaits provides the perfect fix for this, I physically can't stop getting the bottle out and having a sniff. Its not a heavy or sharp citrus scent, it comes through as refreshing and warm and puts me right in the mood for summer.

Eau des Bienfaits also has skincare properties, containing Aloe Vera which is great for adding hydration and has softening properties and Kiwi extract which provides even more hydration and helps improve the skin's suppleness. Fruit Acids and Ginseng are also included which help to gently give the skin a smoother appearance and provide a stimulating effect.

I love to spray this all over first thing in the morning after I've had a shower and while my skin is still wet. I find that it helps to lock in moisture and the scent makes me feel energized for the rest of the day. Its a great scent for spraying on after a work out too as I often feel so tired that I want to just fall into bed so the spray provides a zesty and refreshing little pick me up.
Its a really light spray and not at all oily as some hydrating sprays can be. I love to spray this all over.

Roger and Gallet  Eau des Bienfaits Fragrant Body Mist retails at around £28.50 for 100ml and will be available from selected stores, pharmacies and Marks & Spencers.

Benefit Fake Up Concealer

Benefit Fake Up Concealer

Those cheeky BeneBabes, really pulled it out the bag with this product, its perfect for me.
I love anything of the "stick" variety when it comes to cosmetics as I'm mega lazy in the morning and would much rather have an extra ten minutes in bed than spend time faffing about with foundation and concealer brushes.

I went along to the Glasgow launch of in House of Fraser's Champagne bar to try and "Solve the Mystery ofFake Up!"
I love Benefit events, they are always great fun and I love meeting up with other bloggers.
The champagne bar is gorgeous I've been in a few times and its always so welcoming (The champagne helps with this too). We were greeted with some lovely drinks, canapes and I adored the cute little Benefit,Fake Up cushions adorning the seats.

Fake Up is Benefit's newest concealing product. Housed in a very sleek and shiny silver case it looks very much like a high end lipstick as it is also a twist up product. (Hopefully you won't get it mixed up and end up with rouge under your eyes, not a good look.

At first glance, Fake Up could be just your average concealer however upon closer examination (under large, detective style magnifying glass of course) the pigmented concealer stick is encased in a hydrating ring of Vitamin E and Apple Seed Extract. This helps the concealing core to blend into the skin effortlessly and last around six hours without creasing.

There is nothing worse than concealer settling into fine lines around the eye area and Fake Up was designed to solve this issue. Its non greasy and feels cooling and light when worn around the eye area.

Fake Up comes in three shades, Light, Medium and Deep. I was a little worried initially that the shade range wouldn't suit everyone but the Deep should help to lift and brighten darker skin tones.
I've been using a mixture of all 3 shades since I got them, I use the Light shade to apply in a triangle shape under my eyes to conceal any dark areas, and down my nose as a highlight.
Medium is great for concealing any blemishes and Deep makes a fantastic contour shade.
I'd happily use all over my face if I didn't think they would run out too quickly.

After a lovely evening with Benefit and a lot of fun detective style costumes and themes. It turns out, the mystery is, that there is no mystery at all... Fake Up is just plain fab!
Fake Up* is available from Benefit counters and the Benefit website and retails at £18.50 for 3.5g of product.
